What is the best kayak carrier on a car with roof rails but no crossbars?
I recently received a sit-on-top Drifter Kayak Coleman. I drive a 2001 Volvo V40 wagon roof rack station on each side of the roof, but no crossbars. I am looking for a kayak reliable and affordable for my car that can be attached to my house without bars bars, if that is possible. By "reliable" I mean it must be able to carry my kayak up to five hours on the road. I prefer something on the order of $ 100 or less if possible. I know I can buy especially for a Volvo for about $ 150, but I intend to get rid of this car in a year and I put my money wisely and long term. Thank you for all the ideas you might have.
